Artist Information
Aki Moriuchi was born in Tokyo, Japan. She trained at Harrow College (1988-90) and then at Middlesex University (1990-92), graduating with a first class honours degree.
Her ceramics are simple, organic forms with highly textured surfaces produced from layers of slips and glazes, often volcanic or sandblasted. Her inspiration is drawn from rocks, moss, fossils and sand.
